PSL Coaches have an important role to play in any team in the league season.

Their job is to manage and inspire the team, bring in more trophies and many more expectation from the owners.

The ABSA premier league has over the years announced some of the most expensive players and coaches during transfer window every season.

The media around the world have been publishing these figures and none of the club owners or managers could come forward to confirm them.

It is sometimes difficult to calculate the worth of PSL coaches, as we have seen in many years back, some club managers come in and change things for the best or worst.

You will learn more about these coach and player wages during a transfer window in any PSL season.

PSL Coaches – Top 4 highest paid in the League

1. Pitso Mosimane (+- R750 000pm)

He recently won the league cup for 2017/2018 season.

Mamelodi Sundowns FC coach that have won the PSL more than once, won the CAF Champions League 2016.

He also won Africa’s Super Cup with Sundowns.

His package obviously come with a wide range of benefits, come on let’s face it, this is Sundowns, the most richest club in the country.

2. Stuart Baxter (R350 000 – R450 000pm)

Currently employed by Safa to coach Bafana Bafana. Baxter is making a well-off salary every month

Previously coach for Supersport United FC that had a successful season on the previous club with Kaizer Chiefs.

He is one of the foreign coaches in South Africa that have ever won the premier league more than once.

4. Steve Kompela (R300 000 – R400 000pm)

He has recently resigned as Kaizer Chiefs coach following Moses Mabida pitch invasion.

He was previously in charge of the Soweto giant and most successful team in PSL, Kaizer Chiefs.

The team didn’t see success since Steve was employed in three seasons.

Even though he didn’t have a good first season at the club but the owners have believed in him which is why today, Chiefs is in the top 4 clubs in the log.

He previously coached Free State Stars, Maritzburg United, National team – Bafana Bafana.

4. Gavin Hunt (+- R400 000pm)

He was one of the richest coaches in South Africa when he joined BidVest Wits in 2013.

Hunt spent almost his entire playing career with Hellenic. He had to retire because of an Achilles tendon injury and went straight into coaching.

Hunt’s greatest success came at SuperSport United, where he won three consecutive PSL championships from 2007-08 to 2009-10.
